Part of a settlement would include Takata pleading guilty to criminal misconduct, the source told Reuters. The Justice Department has investigated whether Takata hid information from safety regulators and issued misleading statements about the dangers posed by the air bags. South Korea said on Wednesday that 13 automakers will recall some 110,000 vehicles equipped with Takata Corp's defective air bags, the latest development in a long-running safety crisis involving the Japanese company.
