The head of Foxconn, the world's largest contract manufacturer of electronic goods and a major Apple Inc supplier, said on Sunday that the rise of protectionism is unavoidable. Morgan Stanley CEO James Gorman’s 2016 pay up 7 pct to $22.5 million

Gorman will receive $22.5 million in total compensation, up from $21 million in 2015, spokesman Mark Lake said in an email. Gorman received a $5 million stock bonus for his performance in 2016, an 8 percent increase from 2015, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Apple Inc filed a $1 billion lawsuit against supplier Qualcomm Inc on Friday, days after the U.S. government filed a lawsuit that accused the chip maker of resorting to anticompetitive tactics to maintain a monopoly over key semiconductors in mobile phones. Qualcomm is a major supplier to both Apple and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd for “modem” chips that connect phones to wireless networks.
