Too few businesses are working with their suppliers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to study that praised 29 companies including General Motors , Sky and Sony Corp for taking the lead. “The supply chain is the new frontier in environmental responsibility – an area rich with opportunity that remains mostly unexplored,” non-profit group CDP, formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, wrote in its report published on Tuesday.

(Reuters) – Intercontinental Exchange Inc , the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, said it would buy commodities trading platform Trayport from BGC Partners Inc and GFI Group Inc for about $650 million in stock.

Volkswagen manipulated the carbon dioxide (CO2) emission levels of more petrol-powered vehicles than previously disclosed, a spokesman for the carmaker said on Monday. VW said on Nov. 3 it had understated the level of CO2 emissions in about 800,000 cars sold mainly in Europe, and consequently their fuel usage.
